Cyber Security

The degree programme specializing in Cyber Security is aimed at providing graduates with a computing background the opportunity to up skill on their existing qualifications and to advance their knowledge in this key emerging area. The course provides a detailed coverage of the key concepts and challenge in data and resource protection and computer software security.Graduates should find employment as computer security experts in almost all organizations due to the pervasive nature of modern computing and particular demand will come from the areas of communication industry, financial services, information retrieval and government organizations involved in national security such as the Ministry of Defense.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Passes in three subjects (in any subject stream) at the G. C. E. (Advanced Level) Examination (Sri Lanka) or 3D passes (Edexel/Cambridge) in one and the same sitting and a pass at the aptitude test conducted by the SLIIT.

COURSE FEE

The fee is presently Rs 135,000 ( + Taxes ) per semester for the first two years and Rs. 150,000 ( + Taxes ) per semester for the final two years. Fees for any subsequent semester should be paid prior to the commencement of each semester. This all inclusive fee is charged to cover lectures, tutorials and examinations and access to computer laboratory facilities and library.
The fees should be credited to, Account No 1630552 of the Bank of Ceylon in favour of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, at the Bank of Ceylon Kollupitiya Branch located at the first floor of the BoC Merchant Tower Building or at any branch of the Bank of Ceylon; or to Account No 00 399 0000033 of the Sampath Bank at any branch of Sampath Bank. Normally, fees paid will not be refunded. However, requests for refund of fees may be considered if made before expiry of one week from the date of commencement of lectures for each semester. The date of commencement of lectures for the new applicants will be the date of commencement of lectures of the Orientation Programme. The refund, if made will be subject to a deduction of ten percent of the fee paid
